Saying Goodbye To An Old Friend

The hardest and kindest part of pet ownership is knowing when to let our dear animals pass. Today we sent Mackenzie over the rainbow bridge. At 12 years old, her time seemed all too short . . . but her body was giving out on her quickly and her good days were outnumbered by bad ones.

The Bible is unclear about the afterlife for our beloved pets, but it's my personal belief that as God gives us dominion over animals, we will be given the choice of having them with us once again in heaven. If that is the case, then I will see Mackenzie once again and maybe even find her waiting for me with Quincey.

She was the best dog anyone could ever hope to have and will be very missed. I love you baby girl.

  1. Traci, i am so sorry =( that just brought tears to my eyes. My dad always would tell me when we lost a pet that God says things we love are in Heaven and how they must be there because they bring us such joy. i love you!
