Unlikely Toys

I'm sure you'll all agree that some of the best "toys" our kids play with are not toys at all. There are the obvious things like kitchen spoons and containers as "drums" and large boxes as "forts". But then there are the less obvious: empty paper towel rolls, old greeting cards, the lid of a canning jar, a measuring tape, or dad's cell phone case.

Today my son has been entertained ALL DAY LONG by a pampers diaper box. First it was fun to open and close the flaps. Then, it was time to bang on it with sister. Now, he's discovered that it makes a fantastic walker.
Won't be long before he's walking around on his own! The kids are growing so fast. Their play has moved to a new level and they now really interact. It's so fun to see them take on a game of peek-a-boo or to bang on a drum together and just laugh and laugh.

Kaylee just amazes us every day. The things she remembers, her songs, the words and thoughts that come out of her mouth . . . it's amazing to watch her become a little person.

She still eats like a horse most of the time. This girl loves her food. I love this picture of her taken at breakfast the other day.

No new news on the house. We're waiting for loan docs and then comes the appraisal. I've been able to start doing a little work from home as a "virtual assistant". It's been a nice arrangement. I can work as much or as little as I want and totally on my own schedule. It may be temporary or it may turn into something more long-term. Mike is working his tail off as usual. We're looking forward to desert season and using a little of his vacation time to go have some fun.

That's all for now! - Traci
